So unique!
The layers of this book leave me in awe. At first, it seemed like a zany collection of world building characteristics that seem like they shouldn't work together (and yet they do! So compelling!) but then they all started slotting together, one by one by one. I could not stop reading this and I SO look forward to the next Vajra Chandrasekera book!

Incredible fantasy
Subversive, furious, creative, fearless, astounding. Fantastic book narrated excellently, heartily recommend. I am amazed it doesn't have any other reviews.
