Description

In this audiobook, New York Times best-selling author and 2018 Templeton Award nominee Gregg Braden crosses the traditional boundaries of science and spirituality to answer the timeless question at the core of our existence - Who are we? - and to reveal science-based techniques that awaken our uniquely human experiences of deep intuition, precognition, advanced states of self-healing, and much more!

In one of the great ironies of the modern world, the science that was expected to solve life’s mysteries has done just the opposite. New discoveries have led to more unanswered questions, created deeper mysteries, and brought us to the brink of forbidden territory when it comes to explaining our origin and existence. The Science of Self-Empowerment invites us on a journey beyond Darwin’s theory of evolution to explore these discoveries and the facts they reveal:

Fact 1. Our origin - Modern humans appeared suddenly on earth approximately 200,000 years ago, with the advanced brain, nervous system, and capabilities that set them apart from all other known forms of life already developed, rather than having developed slowly and gradually over a long period of time.

Fact 2. Missing physical evidence - The relationships shown on the conventional tree of human evolution are speculative connections only. While they are believed to exist, a 150-year search has failed to produce the physical evidence that confirms the relationships shown on the evolutionary family tree.

Fact 3. New DNA evidence - The comparison of DNA between ancient Neanderthals, previously thought to be our ancestors, and early humans tells us that we did not descend from the Neanderthals.

Fact 4. A rare DNA fusion - Advanced genome analysis reveals that the DNA that sets us apart from other primates, including in our advanced brain and nervous system, is the result of an ancient and precise fusion of genes occurring in a way that suggests something beyond evolution made our humanness possible.

Fact 5. Our extraordinary abilities - We are born with the capacity to self-heal, to self-regulate longevity, to activate an enhanced immune response, and to experience deep intuition, sympathy, empathy, and, ultimately, compassion - and to do each of these on demand.

Beyond any reasonable doubt, The Science of Self-Empowerment reveals that we’re not what we’ve been told, and much more than we’ve ever imagined.

Note: This audiobook is based on The Science of Self-Empowerment by Gregg Braden, a book previously published as Human by Design.

Who Are We?

I just recently discovered Gregg Braden when I saw a show he did called Missing Links. I watched all the episodes multiple times, so I decided to pick up this audible since it's his newest release.

What an amazing listening experience!

I remember watching that Ben Stein movie, Expelled, years ago and thinking many of the ideas of Intelligent Design (ID) made a lot of sense. Being non-religious, though, and more of the "spiritual not religious" types, I had a hard time with ID and just how to make sense of it.

Braden makes a strong case for humans being the product of design without all the religious elements like creationism and such. Having questions about human evolution and being open to answers that don't conform to the scientific mainstream isn't something relegated solely to evangelical Christianity.

Braden also offers practical advice on opening up to the wisdom of the heart, promoting longevity, and living life with greater purpose.

I highly recommend this audiobook, or the printed book it's based on called Human by Design.

Still a fan

I've been a avid consumer of Gregg's work for over a decade now.
Reading the Divine Matrix years ago transformed my life.
I love that I get to hear about, and most importantly comprehend, information that wouldn't normally be on my radar, I love that this book just makes me even more optimistic about the World and my place in it.
I always feel so inspired and power-filled after one of Gregg's books and this one is true to form.
I would have given 5 stars across the board but for one thing.... as much as I love the stories from this masterful storyteller ... even those I've heard many times before, and I could listen to Gregg's voice all day.... actually I did!... I did get to the point where I thought if he says quote/unquote one more time I'll scream.
I totally understand about honouring and crediting other people's work in an audio format... but when you're quoting your Mum and friends.... especially when you begin the sentence with My Mum always said....
I'm afraid to say it got really tedious and interrupted the usual flow of narrative which he does so well.
Having said that, this book is so packed with fabulous, interesting, enlightening and inspiring information that I know it won't be long before I'm listening to it again.

Among the greatest works of Love I have ever read

If this book were required reading in every school, in every church, in every synagogue, mosque, and temple, in every home, in every hand of every new mother giving birth, this world would already be what we have the potential to make it. I love Gregg Braden, for years. This, to me, is his greatest work yet. A masterpiece, not only thoroughly researched, appealing to the logical mind, but this book also touches the Heart, in the deepest and most profound of ways. It's a gentle yet pointed reminder of who we are - the reminder we all need to hear. I was deeply moved and will be listening to this one again and again. Thank you, Gregg Braden.

Transforming everything I ever believed about myself and my world

Do you ever wonder, “Why me? Why this? Why does anything exist at all? What is my purpose? Who am I? Where am I from?” I have struggled with my beliefs my entire life, trying to find purpose in the mundane, allowing the world to crush me under it’s weight... feeling useless... feeling meaningless... feeling powerless... If you have ever grappled with these things, then this and every book ever written by Mr. Braden is for you. This book marries science and spirituality and discusses some of the major scientific discoveries that change everything we ever thought about our origins and our personal power. We were created in God’s image... full of amazing inner-technologies that we have only just begun to discover. Simply put, this book changes everything.

Love Gregg Braden, but

I purchased the Audible version of this book and the referenced pages in the book are not available through Audible. Any chance anyone knows where to find these?

Audible chat denies that there are supplements to the book. I liked Audible better before Amazon bought it.....

The story of how life did not begin.

Information that must be known. Narration too redundant and general, constantly adding terms ancient traditions and our modern science. Too much unrequired excitement for me,

Nail in the coffin for anyone ignorant enough to still believe in human evolution

So I think Gregg is brilliant. He has helped me in my life in several arenas. The only question I have is who, what, where and when was this discovery of the Fusion of chromosome #2, and how is it possible to date it back to precisely 200,000 years ago? I believe in creation by an Architect (Yehovah/The Creator/The Quantum Field) and the Golden Age of the Angels before man which was most likely the Fallen 200 who brought with them the knowledge of the Heavens which allowed them to build the pyramids, megaliths, etc. Based on the Sumerian Kings Tablets they were here nearly 250,000 years ago. So the timing, in my opinion is in alignment with the discoveries I’ve made thru the scientific/religious community and I’d just like to see the evidence from the scientist who made the discovery and see the published work and any other references used for the book! Life changing!! Thank you Gregg for your hard work and insight. Namaste

Didn't feel quite as empowered

I first discovered Gregg Braden last year on Gaia TV with his show Missing Links. I really enjoyed his show and this book kind of sums up the 1st season. While I find the info fascinating, especially the science of telomeres, I didn't feel I didn't feel the book flowed together as there are a lot of bullet points and sometimes I questioned the transition of topics and how they related to each other. I also didn't feel as inspired or empowered as I have with other teachings. This is more personal as I wasn't sure what to expect having already watched his show. That said, I do think this is still a great book for someone who is not familiar with Gregg Braden and it's filled with lots of good science based information about humans, their origins, and potential to live long healthy lives.
