I normally love Hannah Howell's books, I have read a lot of them.
but the Narrator put me off, the tone she used for Ian was very annoying

First, let me say I enjoy Hannah Howell's historical novels so much. I have read most of them. Overall, the story line was very interesting. I loved the historical references to the settlement era of the Americas. I enjoyed the mixture of cultures from Scotland, England and Americas. However, I was completely put off by the narrator... especially the voicing of the hero, Ian. All I could picture while he spoke was a very old Scottish man. His voice was neither sexy or smooth. It just sounded wrong to me. In addition, there are several times during the story that I thought I had rewound it somehow, because it repeated itself.

Maybe if it had a different narrator? I'm not sure I'm willing to read the next book in the series....

This book was overall pretty good! The story was pretty predictable but I still enjoyed it. I enjoyed the narrator!
