Four great stones once stood on a remote Scottish headland - the Sisters of Skara.
Legend has it they were raised by a grieving father, to guide his abducted daughters home.
A curse was placed on anyone who laid the stones low:
their family, too, would be scattered to the winds, never to find their way home.

1931. When Iris Blackmore's father knocks down the Sisters of Skara standing stones, a dark shadow falls on the Blackmore family. With his fortune lost and wife dead, his four daughters are forced to leave their home, taking only the rings they inherited from their beloved mother.

Iris is the first to depart, travelling east in search of an uncle who might be able to help the family.

Present day. Roz Chatton moves to London from Australia, bringing very little with her other than her mother's old ring. Grieving and adrift, she stumbles on a painting of four ancient standing stones which ignites an uncanny connection to the ring on her finger.

Determined to learn more about the origin of the painting, Roz unearths the full story of Iris Blackmore, unravelling a family history she could never have imagined.

Four lost sisters. A family scattered. An epic journey home. Will you follow?

Ce que les critiques en disent

The Sea Stone Sisters is so cleverly layered and wonderfully compelling, I read it in one sitting. I'm afraid I'm going to need the rest of the series STAT
I just love a mystery like this, one that is unpredictable and unputdownable - jumping from present to past, and to different countries. What makes The Sea Stone Sisters so irresistible is the beauty of Eleanor Buchanan's writing, the effortless way she brings her characters to life and the strong sense of place she creates in each delicious location. I just love a book that moves me, and this one really did move me, profoundly. It's a stunningly good read and I absolutely loved it
A gorgeous, immersive epic that spans many generations, The Sea Stone Sisters explores four lost sisters, an abandoned house on the rugged Scottish coast, and a decades-old curse that rolls in with the mists of the sea. Atmospheric, rich, and utterly satisfying, The Sea Stone Sisters is one of my favourite reads of the year. Eleanor Buchanan is an extraordinary talent, and I can't wait for the next book in this stunning series
An enthralling, gloriously romantic family saga, spanning generations and continents. I didn't want it to end - so thank goodness there are more books to come in the series!
What a fantastic read. Eleanor Buchanan is a wonderful storyteller. The Sea Stone Sisters is a vivid sweeping saga of family, love, separation and ancient curses, set in a series of stunning locations. Evocative, immersive and completely involving. I dropped everything until I'd finished, and now I can't wait for the next one
What a wonderful read! Eleanor Buchanan is the perfect successor to Lucinda Riley. The Sea Stone Sisters is a thrilling historical epic that sweeps the reader along on a tide of family intrigue, breathless romance, and international adventure
An enchanting, edge-of-your-seat tale! Told against the stunning backdrops of the wild Scottish west coast, 1930s Ceylon and the Australian outback, the author's detailed research vividly brings it all to life. The reader is caught up in a web of intrigue, danger and mystery that ultimately leads both Iris and Roz to their destiny. And while their journeys end, the reader is left eager to find out what happened to the other three sisters ... I would highly recommend this to fans of dual time stories - it's wonderful and not to be missed!
