A wonderful intertwining of past and present. Follows the history of a romance between Russian princess and a soldier. Based on true events and mixed with just the right amount of fiction, this audible book will hold and keep your attention. The narrators do a good job of jumping from the past to the present. I recommend this book.

A great story

Took a while for me to get my head into it at first, because I didn’t connect to the modern storyline as much as the older storyline. But once I did, I was hooked. Enjoyed having different voice actors for the modern/flashback portions. I always enjoy a historical “what if” story and this was excellent - well researched and interesting.
I didn’t really like the female voice actor’s attempt at male New Yorker accents but that’s my only complaint :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a great book right from the very beginning.
I thoroughly enjoy Historical Fiction and have read Romance books of the Russian Revolution & WWl slaughter of their people. It is a sad existence.
