 Time was running out for Garion and his companions in their quest to recover Garion's infant son and heir. If they could not locate the Place Which Is No More, then Zandramas, the Child of Dark, would use Garion's son in a rite that would raise the Dark Prophecy to eternal domination over the universe. Only the Seeress of Kell could reveal the site of that mysterious place, and she could only do that once Garion and Polgara had fulfilled an ancient prophecy in the mountain fastness of the Seers.

Kell itself was closed to Zandramas, but her dark magic could force the knowledge she needed from one of Garion's party. She laid her traps and dispatched her foul minions, determined to claim the world for the Dark God. But Garion would let nothing stand between him and his son.

So why would there be 4 really well done books followed by this incredibly amateur recording. There is so much bottom end on this that it’s almost unlistenable. Whoever did the voiceover I can give you three very important pieces of advice. Pop filters are essential, proximity effect is a thing and lay off the brick wall limiter . Back off that mic. You are not Howard Stern! The plosives are all incredibly loud and the hard limiting makes the room sound bounce up and down like a pogo stick. It’s so bad that listening on good quality headphones is horrible.

The reader is very inconsistent with the voices and they are very different than the previous 4 books in the series. Character voices change from one sentence to the next. Characters that sounds completely different than all the previous books. Suddenly we now have (bad) Australians, East Indians and the girls now sound like bad cartoon voice overs. It’s pretty obvious there was no effort towards consistency.

The audio sounds more like a movie trailer or a TV network over the top documentary than a professional audiobook.
