À propos de cet audio
A young college girl goes missing while jogging in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Months later, the septuagenarian and Bebe, his Black Labrador Retriever, take a routine day-hike in the rugged mountains of northern California and stumble upon a horrible crime in progress, the brutal torture and murder of a naked young girl. As he tries to rescue her, he is shot by her killer. After recovering from the gunshot wound, he learns that no law enforcement agency has made a genuine attempt to solve the crime. After being ordered to “stand down,” he resorts to unorthodox methods, and with Bebe’s help (“I’ve got your back,” she says) takes the law into his own hands to track down the killer.
He soon discovers that this doesn’t involve merely a lone killer, or even a serial killer, but something much more sinister, an international human trafficking organization that reaches into the highest levels of the United States government.
This chilling thriller sweeps through the remote mountains of far northern California, Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., the beaches of Maui, and finally a remote mountain lake called Medicine Lake. This is a nail-biter you won’t want to put down.
Bob Kaster is a retired lawyer and California Superior Court Judge.
He has lived and worked in a small rural town in the mountains of Northern California for the past 47 years. Except for the “juicy stuff” he is in fact “The Septuagenarian” in the story.
The story and characters are fictional, but do have a basis in the knowledge and experiences he has gained in those 47 years.
