À propos de cet audio
Over 13 months in 1976-1977, four children were abducted in the Detroit suburbs, each of them held for days before their still-warm bodies were dumped in the snow near public roadsides. The Oakland County Child Murders spawned panic across southeast Michigan, triggering the most extensive manhunt in US history. Yet after less than two years, the task force created to find the killer was shut down without naming a suspect.
The case “went cold” for more than 30 years, until a chance discovery by one victim’s family pointed to the son of a wealthy General Motors executive: Christopher Brian Busch, a convicted pedophile, was freed weeks before the fourth child disappeared.
Veteran Detroit News reporter Marney Rich Keenan takes the listener inside the investigation of the still-unsolved murders - seen through the eyes of the lead detective in the case and the family who cracked it open - revealing evidence of a decades-long cover-up of malfeasance and obstruction that denied justice for the victims.

It’s disgusting that money can / could buy you a free pass for raping children and imo all those involved in that should be convicted of manslaughter or worse.
It’s so hard to imagine losing a child, and losing one this way has to be maddening to say the least.
The book and narration can be hard to follow, mainly the who’s who and when and what. Like any story it has some bias, which can lead you deep into misinformation due to the complexity and compounding areas for estimation due to the lack of certainties.
All in all, a story that needs to be told and a great job of explaining such a convoluted tale.
The good and bad of humanity

My main issue with Keenan's approach is her apparent dedication to titillation. She includes the most graphic and disturbing details with relish.. incorporating aspects clearly intended to shock readers rather than inform them. She also engages in a straight-up nauseating review of the phenomenon of pedophilia across the country - including discussions of how those monsters exploit, traffic, groom, and rape toddlers & children. I had to ask myself "Why is this even here?" far too frequently. Who cares what volume of blood leaked out of the little boy's bum?
As to presentation: Reader Carrington McDuffie is an outstanding reader. She may be a little bit too coldly didactic on this project at times, but her enunciation, timbre, cadence, and - when called for - voice-acting are all commendable.
I rate 'The Snow Killings' 7.5 stars out of 10. There are better options available for your Credit, but spending one on this audiobook wouldn't be crazy. I am pleased to have found it on the 'Plus' menu.

A tough read

Other than that, what happened to those kids is just soul destroying. I found it hard to listen to the narrator go on and on about child pornography.
It goes on and on and on.....
