Dry start, worth the investment

This is a must read if you have any interest in agricultural production. The way politics have formed agricultural practices, and vice versa, are layed out very clearly here. Why do some regions have bigger farms, why do some regions have more mechanization, how are farmers in France and China similar?
This books has details on farming's history that when all put together, can provide insight to the future- but it isn't going to spell it out. You have to do the work.
