Description

When Isaac Bell attempts to decipher the forbidding deaths of nine men, he encounters a secret so powerful it could dictate the fate of the world in this riveting thriller by the number one New York Times best-selling author.

A century apart, NUMA Director Dirk Pitt and detective Isaac Bell team up to unlock the truth about the most famous maritime disaster of all time.

In the present day, Pitt makes a daring rescue from inside an antiquated submersible in the waters off New York City. His reward afterwards is a document left behind a century earlier by legendary detective Isaac Bell - a document that re-opens a historical mystery....

In 1911, in Colorado, Isaac Bell is asked to look into an unexplained tragedy at Little Angel Mine, in which nine people died. His dangerous quest to answer the riddle leads to a larger puzzle centered on byzanium, a rare element with extraordinary powers and of virtually incalculable value. As he discovers that there are people who will do anything to control the substance, Isaac Bell will find out just how far he'll go to stop them.

Different for a Cussler book, in a good way

First time Pitt and Bell are in the same story. Credible story. Found myself really into the story and dare I say, found it a bit short.

Love Cussler books!

Nothing New

This is a formula book! Same style of story and plot! I love Scott Brink ! However, he narrates all of Cusslers book so there is no change of tempo or variety! The last two books have been less than expected!

Interesting tale with the usual amount of mayhem.

Scott Brick was a terrific narrator, again. Weaving Pitt into the story was creative. I'm an Isaac Bell fan and definitely enjoyed the tale.

Disappointing

If you are a fan of Raise the Titanic, you will be disappointed...SPOILER ALERT: this book just expands on the part of the original story of how the ore ended up in the Titanic. No new revelations...just pages and pages of running and gunning that ends up with Brewster in the hold of the Titanic as it sank...disappointing

The Titanic Secret

Love Isaac Bell novels. This one was too violent for my taste. Always love the narration by Scott Brick

A solid Entry to the Issac Bell Series

Clive Cussler handles this story like the "Grey Ghost" with his modern characters following one of Issac Bell's cases. In the "Grey Ghost" it was the Fargos this time its Dirk Pitt. Mr Cussler weaves an engaging tale without once breaking the story Dirk believes he knew from "Raise the Titanic"

Just average for an Isaac Bell adventure

Just average for an Isaac Bell adventure. Characters all started to bleed together after a while and it was sometimeschatd to keep track of who was who.

Action Packed Historical Fiction

This tale had as much action as any current movie, with the inimitable Isaac Bell in the forefront of it all! The fiction blended with nonfiction, as well as having the main author's two beloved characters, Pitt and Bell in one story, combined to make this one of my favorite Cussler novels.

Another Rousing Adventure with Isaac Bell!

I'm not sure what Dirk Pitt and the Turtle have to do with Isaac Bell and the Titanic, so the prologue, which actually ran quite long, and the epilogue sort of distracted from an otherwise great Isaac Bell adventure. A lot of plot twists in this one, some of which were obvious, others quite surprising. A good read for anyone, and a great read for Isaac Bell fans. Four stars because of the Dirk Pitt parts. I like Dirk Pitt, but I am a Isaac Bell fan.
