Admittedly I haven't read the first two books. I bought it because I heard Burroughs read excerpts re: the seven souls and was hoping to hear him extrapolate on this and Egyptian mythology a bit... which he does only slightly and intermittently, with long stretches of rambling narrative in between. Disappointing.

Not what I was expecting

This is a great reading of Burroughs' last novel. The narrator makes this final spiritual text come alive, and the imagery, invocation and desperate plea of a dying man are palpable and haunting. Recommended.
