Rob Sheffield gives us a short perspective on Stevie Nicks' place in rock history which I found to be a nice complement to her autobiography.

I have read criticisms of Sheffield's work that he gets carried away inserting lyrics into his writing. In other books, I have found this to be an effective and enjoyable technique, but I do find that he does it far too frequently in this book, but it doesn't take too much away from it for me; it's just mildly distracting.

I have listened to a number of Sheffield's books, and I really enjoy his voice and style of reading.

A good introduction of who Stevie Nicks, her music and Fleetwood Mac. Yet, I was yearning for something more to hear. This was a bit boring for my taste of biographies about musicians and artists. Will look more into other Stevie Nicks bio and music.

Ya, it's a short book. But we have no idea about the ethos of Stevie Nicks, her deep thoughts, her worries, what she's most proud of. We don't get to know her at all. The fact is, she is hard to know, but also quite boring to an outsider. No apparent sense of humour. She always seems like a flat character to me.

I did not enjoy this biography. I had to start it over again several times as I was loosing interest in it. Very easy to use to fall asleep to.
