8/10 Narration
The Witches' Blade is a great continuation of the series, addressing and surpassing the issues I had with the first book. It's evident that the author has grown significantly as a writer from their debut to this second entry. This installment focuses on Rua and Renwick. In the aftermath of the first book, the Northern Court is left in disarray, and Rua remains behind with the Immortal Blade to ensure stability. I absolutely loved Rua’s character. She is lost, unsure of her place, and reluctant to ask for help, believing she has to shoulder everything alone. Slowly the people of the Northern Court win her over and she finds where she belongs. Initially presented as the evil Witchslayer in the first book, this sequel offers profound depth and insight into Renwick’s character, adding layers and complexity to the narrative. I appreciated that the scope of the conflicts in this book was smaller, allowing for more focus on the romance and character relationships. This approach provided a better exploration of the characters' dynamics and growth. I love every single character in this series and can’t wait to continue the series and read the story of the remaining characters from our main group.
Another great book in the series
