GREAT START.. PLSE KEEP EM COMING Ms LINDE

Well, if Buddy Holly's birthplace didn't put Lubbock Texas on your radar then its resident K.A. Linde will with this story of two people who, because of their cheating ex's actions, find it hard to trust. At his sister's wedding Jensen, the handsome CEO of the family's business, couldn't ignore the sparks between himself and the beautiful stranger going by the name of Em - he didn't do long-term and her 'just visiting family' fit right in to his rule of not sleeping with anyone from Lubbock. However, this Billionaire had assumed a lot.. he'd assumed Em wasn't going to stay, he assumed he'd never met her before, he assumed it was going to be one and done, he assumed he could keep his distance from her after one night, he assumed a hell of a lot more... and he was wrong every time.

Emery was back home in Lubbock after a ten year gap studying for her PhD in history but found herself reevaluating her life goals after she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. So now she's living with her pregnant sister/husband/daughter until she figures out what to do with her life.. but the one thing she does know is that she wants nothing to do with any of the Wright siblings. She'd spent two of her High School years dating Landon Wright and it ended badly.. so nope never gonna happen.. but, when she gets an eyeful of the charismatic droolworthy older brother Jensen Wright, Emery is very very tempted. Although their libidos are saying "yes yes yes" and "when when when" - Emery's head is still in charge.. but not for long. And very soon there's a date, a sheepskin rug, a log fire and lots of sexcapades.. unfortunately after that it's an emotional rollercoaster and bad decisions, a seven year secret, assumptions, an ex's venomous drama causes turmoil and a twist are all interspersed in amongst beautiful days and sweet actions. Will Destiny finally pair the right Wright man with Emery.. or is their combined baggage just too much to handle?

Another good story from K. A. Linde who knows how to right angst-ridden steamy love stories that are beautiful disasters. Both the h/h are caring likeable characters, are part of a loving family and reap the rewards of fighting for each other. Jensen's swoon-worthy and charmed his way into Emery's pants.. and heart and she fought for, and with, her man for their happy ending. But, at times, I did think Jensen was a wee bit passive rather than a powerful alpha CEO.. nevertheless he was a down-to-earth hero and his simple date of tacos and Christmas lights was very sweet. I also thought that two people, who couldn't keep their hands off each other, missed the opportunity of joining The Mile High Club while flying in Jensen's Private Jet.. or maybe that's just my mind, the gutter and unfulfilled dreams!:) Excellent dual POV narration brought the characters to life.. along with the angst, the passion, the drama and the pleasure too.

Worth a credit? Yes I really enjoyed it. But, it all happens in just a few weeks.. so, while it's not quite insta-everything, it's a close second so be warned.. it didn't bother me at all but you may want more.

Ludicrous Melodrama

I spent almost the entirety of this book shaking my head and grumbling out loud. The sheer amount of unnecessary drama was baffling and frustrating. It's like the author tried to find every possible misunderstanding that could have easily been solved with one simple conversation but turned it into a long drawn out soap opera. Who has their ex-wife tell them their child is not theirs and then never gets a paternity test? And so on and so forth.

1st KA Linde read and its a hit!

Where does The Wright Brother rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved this book and would rank it in one of my top 20 books. The story is well written and believable, it's something that could happen to most everyone. Both h/h are down to earth despite one being "made of money" and their love story is one that you see how they fight for each other and why their angst is normal.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene when Jensen and Emory are caught by Landon. That scene and the one that follows at the bar/pool hall is believable. You feel for Landon as who wants to see their ex with their brother but also for Jenson and Emory as their relationship is new and not being mentioned to everyone yet. KA Linde shows the emotions of all 3 and how they handle it in a very realistic way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, there is so much to this story that I didn't want to put it down. I wish I picked a day that I could have listened to all day long as trying to find a good stopping point was hard. Every chapter brought me further into the story and I was more invested and didn't want to quit.

I can't wait for the next 2 books. While each book is a standalone you get to know the characters in the next 2 books and for those that want to see what happens to each character at one time might want to consider waiting for the next 2 books to release later in 2017.

Narrators save a tolerable book

Audible Escape. This book was saved by the narrators. It’s not horrible, it’s just passable.

The biggest issue is that in order to create “intrigue” or “drama” or whatever ~ the author has the MC’s keeping secrets that don’t make any sense.

Emery has returned to Lubbock after 10 years following a break-up with a cheating ex and deciding the master’s degree she was earning wasn’t what she wanted. She has returned to the land of the Wright family who are all gorgeous and wealthy. Apparently she dated Landon Wright in high school for two years. They broke up when they went to college ~ but somehow this is a *thing* that has scarred her and makes her not want anything to do with the Wrights.

Jensen Wright is the current “patriarch” of the Wright family as their parents are dead and he’s the oldest. They all, of course, have a variety of issues.

Emery’s friend, Heidi, brings Emery to the youngest Wright’s wedding. Emery has been all dolled up and no one recognized her so Heidi introduces her as Em. Somehow this is enough to fool people who’ve known her her entire life.

Emery & Jensen meet and sparks fly. Yay. Except, not so much. First everyone seems to think that since Emory and Landon dated that this is somehow taboo. This becomes an annoying refrain throughout the whole book. Also, Jensen is under the impression that Emery is only here temporarily and proceeds to act like a jerk after their one-night-stand. Then he changes his mind and tries to win her back. She ignores him.

Again Emery is invited by Heidi to the Wright Company Christmas party. I know this is a small town ~ but this is just weird and a weak “vehicle” to get Emery & Jensen in the same room again. But, it works, and we’re off again.

Anyyyway... without spoilers, there’s more secrets and more revelations that are anti-climactic or just don’t make sense. Landon’s current wife and Jensen’s ex bring all sorts of OTT catty drama. These are adults, right?

Emery & Jensen get their HEA and I’ve managed to become intrigued enough to want to listen to the next book, mostly because I love those narrators too. Would I spend a credit on this, no. But as part of Unlimited listening on Audible Escape, sure.

the right Wright brother

If it wouldn't have been for her broken heart, I would say I am glad that Emory's past relationship with Landon didn't work out. She got her HEA with the right Wright brother, Jensen, a protective, Alpha man with a heart of gold. They are so right for each other, and I couldn't help but root for them.
With the awesome voices of the narrators, the story is a delight to listen to. I will be checking their other narrations for sure.
I recommend with 5 stars.

Sexy new series!!

This is the first book I've read from this author. At first I thought this was not going to be worth it after reading the first few pages of chapter 1 but then it did get a whole lot better. This is about the fictional Wright family (3 males and 2 females) of Lubbock, Texas. I loved the description of the sexy men but the bff females sounded immature when they were together for being 27 years old. Usually by this age, your excessive partying and crude name calling for bff has subsided (1 star removed). Aside from that I enjoyed book 1, and am looking forward to the next in series. It was steamy, with some drama for Emery and Jensen. Worth my credit: yes.

Exelent!! Two thumbs up!!

I will start by saying that the writing, the story and the overall execution of the build-up between characters is FANTASTIC! K.A.Linde is so good in creating very relatable characters and circumstances and making them palpable to her reader. In this case the premise of dating the brother of your ex is a very strong plot that you want to dive into. What she weaves in masterfully is the many other undercurrent of plotline and twists that make you want to keep listening/ reading in one sitting. You feel the characters emotions and their turmoil and you can't help but root for them. The narration team was excellent!! I will certainly look for more of their narration work. I am very thrilled with this read and look forward to diving into the next book in the series.
