Trying to make it on your own
I could not stop once I started this book, I needed to know how it all fell apart and came together! The maturity and compassion these two have, in the face of such adversity and pain, was amazing. Throw in a vulnerable 8-year-old, and there was no way I didn’t need to know what was going to happen and how. While everyone and everything tugged at my heartstrings, I was too focused on how our characters would get out of situations to cry, and with the bad guys being so bad, I needed to get to the resolution. Loved how they realized they were never alone, and asking for help isn’t a weakness, it allows other to show how much the care and love you <3

Unexpected
Because the series is available for free with an Audible membership I stepped in book 2 right away.
I was really nice to hear from characters in the previous story while getting to know completely new ones. The twists and turns were unexpected and I enjoyed the time of listening.
