When a hiker falls from a cliff edge while walking the Cotswolds Way, it seems like no accident. The more Jack and Sarah investigate the walkers on the trail that day, the more likely it seems that danger is still afoot. Is there a potential killer in this Cherringham tour group? And when will he or she strike again? Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby.

Description
When Cherringham's Council debates selling the historic village hall for development as a luxury restaurant and hotel, all of Cherringham is up in arms; some seeing the sale as needed, others deeply opposed. For many, the centuries-old hall is the very heart of the community! But when the leader of the protestors is attacked after a raucous meeting and death threats are made, Jack and Sarah are asked to investigate. Can they find a possible killer before the crucial Council vote? And maybe stop a murder?
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.
The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

A premature review here, but;
While I am only halfway through this title in the series, it is proving just as satisfying as I have come to expect. I have listened to every episode of this series as well as the longer books that aren’t part of the numbered series. They are very well written cozy mysteries that definitely rise above the majority of the genre. It almost feels a slight to even apply that moniker. Perhaps if every cozy series were to rise to this level, it wouldn’t feel that way. Without naming any names, there are a few other, very popular cozy series I listen to as well that feature a female and male combination doing the sleuthing, usually with the female lead being an amateur who, with a credibility stretching detective talent that so often rises above the male lead who are professionals in the detective world, in one fashion or another, to the point of eye rolling at times. That is another huge difference with this series. They have now been friends and partners in crime fighting for years (both in the real, publishing world and in their small corner of England contained in the series). Being a retired NYPD detective, the male here has taught the female lead over the years with her improving throughout and earning her partner’s respect both by her willingness to learn as well as her strengths she brings to the cases. In the other series I was referring to, the romantic parts can be a bit too much of the story and get a bit old. Oddly though, I’m at the point that I would actually like it if these two did get together. Well, that’s with a big caveat. I’d also hate it if it changed everything so much that looking forward to each new book in the series is no longer anticipated so eagerly. If any authors could do it, I think it would be this pair of authors.
Wouldn’t want to leave out the narrator who deserves high praise for making every character easily distinguishable and seems to catch all the nuances of all different types of conversations and the emotions found in those conversations. Would hate to see the narrator changed in this series.

Another enjoyable listen as Jack and Sarah look into the shenanigans of a developer seeking to tear down the town hall and put up a luxury hotel and restaurant. Loved this series
I absolutely loved this series. It was like reading a TV series. I loved the fact that they were short mysteries. They were fun to read and the main characters, (Jack and Sarah) were fascinating. Neil Dudgeon did a great job narrating the stories. He did such a good job switching the American and English accents that I forgot sometimes that he was British.. I was disappointed when I read the last book.
