When a minor terrorist group, looking to make its mark, aims to take out a “soft target” in the United States — one relatively unguarded yet which can be hugely damaging to the US — the race is on for Agent Zero to discover their object and stop them before it’s too late. Yet Zero faces his own battles: When he is targeted for assassination and someone close to him ends up the victim instead, it sends his life into a downspin, and allows him only course of action: vengeance.

It's a gorgeous autumn day in Georgetown. The Democratic candidates for president and vice-president of the United States are dutifully glad-handing voters and the media outside a grand estate where a national-security conference has just been held, bringing together the world's greatest minds to discuss the issues that are threatening the country. It's American politicking at its best. That's when all hell breaks loose.

Exciting Continuation of Mitch Rapp Story
- Écrit par Rod le 2018-09-15
Description
“Mills’s suspenseful, strikingly original sixth Mitch Rapp novel...is as riveting as anything penned by Mitch’s creator, Vince Flynn (1966-2013). Mills has really hit his stride with this franchise entry.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)
“One of the best thriller writers on the planet.” (The Real Book Spy)
In the next thriller in the number one New York Times best-selling Mitch Rapp series, it's a race against the clock when ISIS takes out the entire US power grid and throws the country into chaos.
When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS's top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America's power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA's trap fails.
The Agency is still trying to determine what went wrong when ISIS operatives help this cyber terrorist do what he said he could - plunge the country into darkness. With no concept of how this unprecedented act was accomplished, the task of getting the power back on could take months. Perhaps even years.
Rapp and his team embark on a desperate search for the only people who know how to repair the damage - the ones responsible. But his operating environment is like nothing he's experienced before. Computers and communication networks are down, fuel can no longer be pumped from gas stations, water and sanitation systems are on the brink of collapse, and the supply of food is running out.
Can Rapp get the lights back on before America descends irretrievably into chaos?
This compulsive thriller proves once again that the Mitch Rapp series is "the best of the best when it comes to the world of special ops" (Booklist, starred review).

US goes dark, it’s up to Rapp to get them back on!
America’s power grid is vulnerable, congress knows it but they are congress all hearings and no action! Congress hires an expert John Alton to look into the vulnerability of our power grid. What he finds is just how easy it would be to take the power grid down. Plus if the power is off for a year or more it would send America back to the stone age and kill 90% or more of America’s population! Tired of congress not doing anything, John decides to show them just how easy it is to turn out the lights. He offers the info to the Russians they send in a long time sleeper agent Sonya Vance to confirm the information. The Kremlin decides the plan is too risky and the possibility of relation too high. So John turns to ISIS knowing they would do anything to destroy America! Rapp, Coleman, and Kennedy are planning their next move when they are plunged into the dark. As Americans are trying to find away to survive, Rapp is on the hunt to find John Alton the man that turned off the light to get him to turn them back on! This book will have you thinking twice the next time the power goes out especially in today’s world! Some of Kyle Mills books have come close to telling the future let’s hope and pray this one stays on the pages of this book!

Too short, not enough Rapp
George Guidall is excellent as always. While Kyle Mills has done a wonderful job in the Mitch Rapp series, this book is way too short and the plot is way too simplistic. Next time, I am hoping Mills writes a deeper book twice as long!

Great Premise, Terrible Execution
Generic nothing money grab of a book, Mitch Rapp book in name only. Liked the premise of the story, but the storytelling and HORRIBLE narration by George Guidall ruined it. Own every book in the series, waited months for this book to be released, wish I could return it.

WOW!! Not to be missed!
TOTAL POWER, a political thriller, is Book 19 in the Mitch Rapp series and the sixth Rapp novel written by Kyle Mills since the 2013 death of Vince Flynn. It is an outstanding suspense thriller that is easily one of the best novels of the year. Like Lethal Agent, the 2019 novel in the Mitch Rapp series, Total Power takes place almost exclusively in the US and deals with a threat to the homeland rather than foreign espionage. This novel has some post apocalyptic aspects as the US is thrown into chaos with millions of deaths when the power grid is brought down. (If the reader is familiar with the After series By William Forstchen which began with One Second After this novel is similar except the power grid failure is not caused by an EMP attack). I do not plan to write a long review but do recommend the excellent Amazon review by David T. Total Power is the 16th consecutive novel in this series narrated by George Guidall. He does a marvelous job!

Is this an abridged version?
The storyline was interesting, but not very well developed. At one point, Rapp apparently goes blind, but there’s no follow up. Like I said, it’s as though it’s abridged or there’s an error in the recording. It’s worth a listen for the die hard fans, but definitely not Mills best work on the series.
