À propos de cet audio

In this brilliant conclusion to his best-selling Mythos trilogy, legendary author and actor Stephen Fry retells the tale of the Trojan War.

Full of tragic heroes, intoxicating love stories, and the unstoppable force of fate, there is no conflict more iconic than the Trojan War. Troy is the story of the epic battle retold by Fry with drama, humor, and vivid emotion. Achilles, Hector, Odysseus, Helen, their lovers, and their mortal enemies all burn bright in Fry's compelling prose. This volume invites you to explore a captivating world with a brilliant storyteller as your guide.

• Beloved author: Stephen Fry is an icon whose signature wit and mellifluous style makes this retelling utterly unique. Fans will love hearing his interpretation, whether they are familiar with the original Greek myths or not.

• Timeless Stories: For fans of Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology, Madeline Miller's Circe or Song of Achilles, or Pat Barker's The Silence of the Girls, this is the perfect next great book. These ancient tales never get old.

• Stunning Series Conclusion: Mythos and Heroes, the first two installments in the trilogy, were international best sellers. Now fans can listen to the thrilling third book.

This is the best of the three books! I liked the other two, but there were too many gods and demi gods and sporadic short stories. This is one great account of the Trojan war including all of the Iliad and beyond to the fall of the city. One of the best recountings of the tale I've heard and I would strongly recommend it.

best of the lot!

This is the most approachable version of the Trojan War I have yet experienced.

I especially loved the opening of the chapter "The luck of Troy". Stephen seemed to be channeling Douglas Adams in both writing and performance.

Fry's Saga: Mythos, Heroes and, of course, this wonderful rendition of the story of Troy have enthralled me and helped me come to terms with some existential dread I've been dealing with of late (I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one these days).

I have listened through Mythos twice and Heroes one and a half times and expect I will be giving this new volume the same treatment. The plot pacing is great; the narration is somehow soothing and titillating, both at the same time. It feels a bit like gossiping with my very British mother-in-law about the Gods, Goddesses, and Humans' foibles over high tea.

It is my fond hope that Stephen Fry will continue to wear his rightfully earned mantle of Bard for many long, fruitful, and pleasant years to come.

I do wonder why he hasn't been knighted yet though...

Sir Stephen Fry should be Commended to His Majesty
