Description

Shannon Gunn is unintentionally hilarious yet again
I don’t know why they always make this man do the hispanic voices, it’s truly a mystery. He also did the one for the latino character in the Black Ops series - it, too, was hilarious. Why does he insist on making them sound like this, it’s borderline offensive??
Also, the sex scenes are a laugh a minute. You really have to concentrate on the words and not the timbre of his voice.
And why don’t all the voice actors consult on these?? They should at least try to make their voices for different characters sound similar. Why did Gunn choose to give Dallas a weird hick accent? His brothers don’t have one. They’re from West Palm Beach, not nowheresville Kansas. Is it just because his name’s Dallas? Is that where the inspiration sprung? Further, why did he make Nolan sound like yogi bear for the 3 minutes he spoke in this story? And sometimes Darcey sounded like a thrice-divorced lifelong smoker on the verge of needing a tracheotomy.
But I digress.
Great story as always. A bit of a weird fetishization with hispanic men and the fact that they’re hispanic and enjoy hispanic things (I see you Cindy), but the female characters are always strong and lead somewhat realistic lives; they’re flawed (like the men are), but they’re relatable for that reason.
Truly, I only ever review these books to dunk on Shannon Gunn. The man has an unbelievable dedication to voice acting but I just think that they should pass on giving him “hispanic” roles.
Then again, this book was released a while ago, so who am I to judge what 2008-ish thought was cool. I was 11 🤷🏼♀️

Entertaining
Entertaining series (somewhat predictable in places) but I see this in my minds eye as a fun romcom movie series on Amazon or Netflix.
