Description

In this number one national best seller, a journalist who's been attacked by antifa writes a deeply researched and reported account of the group's history and tactics.

When Andy Ngo was attacked in the streets by antifa in the summer of 2019, most people assumed it was an isolated incident. But those who'd been following Ngo's reporting in outlets like the New York Post and Quillette knew that the attack was only the latest in a long line of crimes perpetrated by antifa.

In Unmasked, Andy Ngo tells the story of this violent extremist movement from the very beginning. He includes interviews with former followers of the group and people who've been attacked by them and incorporates stories from his own life. This book contains a trove of documents obtained by the author, published for the first time ever.

Must read!

Thorough and informative. How is antifa as an ideology and organization not at the forefront of every American, Canadian and European mind. The danger to democracy and threat of extremist action and violence is very concerning.

Insightful

I had no idea how organized antifa was. It shows the corruption in the prosecutors offices. The politicians that are either socialist/fascist themselves. It's all projection from the left.

keeping up with the fight

not really sure how I feel about the narration of this book and many others.
simply put Andy is not english, so the English accent doesn't feel real, Don Jr. isn't female so listening to Kimberly narrate doesn't seem true.
just my thoughts
unmasked was well written
Thank You Andy

Stellar book

The current cognitive dissonance in our society makes me feel like I’m living in the twilight zone. Well written book, the west coast has been under siege for the last year. The enabling and condoning of Antifa in Portland and Seattle is disgusting. Police too afraid to take action in fear of losing their job by the angry masses crying out “abuse!”. Should be required reading. I seriously empathize with anyone having to live in those cities

An Extremely Important Book

Courageous. Factual. Critical.

Andy Ngo's book lays bare the sinister nature of Antifa as an organization and more importantly, shows the reader the sheer dishonesty, cowardice & hypocrisy of the Left leaning political parties and the incredibly biased Media.

It does not matter whether you lean Left or Right. Both sides have it wrong when it comes to antifa. The Left is playing with fire by supporting and encouraging these anarchists, who for the time being align with their agenda. While the Right has underestimated/misunderstood the true nature and extent of threat posed by these radical.

Its an easy read and will arm the reader with more factual information than CNN or Twitter ever can.

The Authoritative Antifa Journo

Obviously Ngo has made a name for himself by honing in on the phenomenon of the network of militant nu-communist groups we recognize as Antifa - and he's dug into it pretty deep. This man has gone undercover, been attacked and stalked repeatedly, recorded and observed dozens of events and riots, and for all intents and purposes has been in the thick of it ever since the early days. He'll get smeared and lied about, to be sure, and there's no doubt that he's not exactly sympathetic to the group (they put him in the hospital and routinely threaten his life and that of his family, after all) - but that appears to have motivated him to pursue the story that much harder.

People will call him a right wing hack and probably assume this is a right wing book - in fact my only criticism is that Andy Ngo isn't right wing enough haha. The guy's got pretty vanilla and middle of the road takes on most things, and this book is almost entirely objective accounts based on evidence and testimony. I don't think I heard him speculating even once throughout. He even goes as far as to draw equivalencies between "far right extremism" and the "far left extremism" of antifa - which I tend to think is a bit absurd given the massive imbalance that exists between the two. Far right militant groups are barely a thing in the US - but militant communists have become a significant force for political terrorism that we've all seen wreak havoc on dozens of cities and towns throughout the last few years.

But the point is - Ngo knows what he's talking about. His authority on this topic is unassailable. Even if you gauge credibility in leftist terms, IE "lived experiences" and victim status; Andy Ngo's been victimized constantly by this group and has been intinately engaged with them for some time. Yet every time they take a swing at him he bounces back and continues to be a thorn in their side, relaying their crimes and their ideology to the world. It's admirable, in my view.

Frankly I'm astonished this man hasn't fled to a concealed carry state and doesn't walk around strapped 24/7, given the numerous very serious in-person threats he's showered with and the violence that's already been committed against him. But he stays level headed and somehow still fair in his reporting on the group.

This is a must read book if you want to get a sense for what's happening politically in America today. It's not "big picture" stuff, but rather it's zooming in on the details and the events that don't make it to the MSM. Andy Ngo let's the reader draw their own conclusions about what he's showing us - and I appreciate that.

Excellent

I do not share much of the author’s political views. I don’t need to be a conservative or Republican to appreciate this book. He’s speaking truth about a real threat. I hope people from the left will look beyond the prescribed duality of the day and read this book. The last chapter will make you cry.

Excellent read if you want to understand the riots

I watched many of these events through livestreamers. He writes of exactly what I saw and what I mourned every time the violence started, and yes, the violence was always there as soon as the sun goes down. It's still happening, just no one but him is watching out for us now. Thank you Andy Ngo. Thank you for all of your sacrifices. You will always be a beacon of hope and a portrayor of what it means to be a true journalist, of which we are sadly lacking worldwide now.

Must read

After Minneapolis was set on fire this summer, I wrote up a Facebook post that said that this sounds like Antifa and half of my friends disagreed with me - though they were kind about it. One is a sweet old lady who lives in a small town who pointed out that antifa stands for anti-fascist and that makes them good people.
Another Pointed out all of the great volunteer work they do, a third is a regular marcher in BLM protests who pointed out “right-wing” groups like the boogaloo boys who she was certain had done the damage because antifa just would not do any such thing. Another lives in Portland and is quite certain that all of the damage has been done by the proud boys.
It is an uphill battle trying to convince people of this threat. This book will help.

Why this narrator?

It’s a great book. Relevant, eye-opening and important. Hard to listen through for me because of once again, choice of narrator. Probably the worst piece of literate to be read by a British person, especially one who starts every sentence with overly-punctuated words and finishes most with words that are whispered. I listened through twice simply because Andy Ngo is such a fantastic, well researched author, writing on what’s perhaps the most important subject of these times. I wish Andy had read the book for this recording. As an old school Democrat child of the 60s who doesn’t get this new breed of self-appointed conformist enforcing thought police who identify as “dem-prog.” and someone who doesn’t condone violence who’s absolutely not a Trump guy, and a survivor of a much lesser degree of attack by members of same organization (that’s illustrated in this book), I’m troubled. If Dwight Eisenhower were here right now, he’d be characterized as a leftie peacenik by both sides.

Madness

Future historians may well refer to our time as "the Madness." While Andy neatly describes the acts and tacticts of deranged but organized individuals, it is the enabling by politicians, prosecutors, and media which is madness.

Thank you for shining a light into the dark.

I have followed Andy Ngo posts on social media. He has continued to cover the truth while maintaining media covers for. It is clear I don't care for antfi, but I didn't know the extent of their training and tactics. I found the book to be a eye opener.

This eye witness account of Antifa and it's goals/practices is quite possibly one of the most important books to be written in my lifetime. Read it.

for a super Brave journalist, Gno call 911 alot!
this book is very enlightening and clearly shows how weaker and lesser Minds can be suede into a thinking that aggression as an acceptable means of persuasion towards one's thinking.. a thinking which the "Right" in America is absolutely opposed. demonstrating clearly that fascism is on the left Spectrum.. without voluntary Exchange!
