When Laken Wagner is awakened by deafening, predatory pounding on a cracking wooden door, she finds herself in an unfamiliar place, in unfamiliar clothes, with absolutely no memory of how she got there. The man beating viciously on the door, Anton, threatens Laken, and she knows she needs to find a way out of there immediately.
She runs into the bathroom, hoping to find an escape route but instead finds herself stopped suddenly in her tracks as she stares into the mirror at a face that isn’t her own. With no time to figure out how any of this makes sense, a burst of adrenalin and her survival instincts propel her out the narrow window. She lands in an unmaintained alley where she is picked up by Jasper, a man she’s never met before, who keeps calling her Tam. Suddenly, Laken is swept up in Tam’s action-packed life.
In order to get back into her own “meat,” Laken agrees to help Jasper stop Anton’s latest terroristic plot, a kidnapping to another reality in hopes of a ransom. Will Laken embrace her new reality…or will she even be able to survive it?
