The official novelization of the blockbuster movie, written and directed by visionary Luc Besson (Lucy, The Fifth Element). Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. I saw the movie years ago and what the movie lacked was the internal struggles and feels of the two protagonists. This helped fill in some of those pieces.
The narration was excellent making it easier to follow what was going on with the different voices.
Other than a couple uses of the word “sh!t” this book was young reader friendly while not being too YR for an adult not to enjoy.

Worth a listen

I did not realize until I had purchased it that this was only a novelization of the film, not an original book. Thus, I forgot to review it after finishing it. I thought I had watched the movie again, not listened to the audiobook.

I can't tell how good the adaptation was, because I have little memory of the film. 2 hour chase scenes do that for me: tales told by a madman, and all that. So, to me this was just the Descriptive Audio from the movie.

Not really a novel at all
