À propos de cet audio
A match between a vampire and shifter could be deadly - but this broken beaver doesn’t give a dam.
Silent film actor Casimir Moreau had imagined that life as a vampire would be freewheeling and glamorous. Instead, he’s plunged into a restrictive society whose rules he runs afoul of at every turn. To “rehabilitate” him, the vampire council orders him mated to an incubus with impeccable breeding who’ll mold Cas into the upstanding vampire he ought to be. Or else.
As an inactive beaver shifter, construction engineer Rusty Johnson has fought - and overcome - bias and disrespect his entire life. But when his longtime boyfriend leaves him for political reasons, Rusty is ready to call it a day. Next stop? Supernatural Selection and his guaranteed perfect mate, a bear shifter living far away from Rusty’s disapproving clan.
But then a spell snafu at Supernatural Selection robs both men of their intended husbands. Rusty can’t face returning to his clan, and Cas needs somebody on his arm to keep the council happy, so they agree to pretend to be married. Nobody needs to know their relationship is fake - especially since it’s starting to feel suspiciously like the real thing.

Why are these rated so high? This book is horrible and is almost exactly like the last book I read...or tried to read.
This author makes a habit of trying to keep you on the edge of your seat with constant action or angst, meanwhile, you only get snippets of romance.
Additionally, the same characteristics run through the books I've listened to:
-one lead keeps some secret that they believe MUST be kept from everyone, regardless of the affections towards the next lead for most if not nearly all of the book.
-one lead seems a bit neurotic and over the top in wanting to keep the other lead safe
-no matter how educated they are supposed to be, both leads think and act like teens. All emotion based. Never thinking anything through. E.g. from this book: Sneaking into the hospital in the daytime to see the new vamp. No thought whatsoever. They get there and Cass explains that he was going to use Russ' blood (didn't tell Russ beforehand) to help the new vamp. Help him do what exactly? He was going to get one of the nurses on duty to fasten a tournaquette from Russ to the new vamp to feed Russ' special blood so that he would hopefully awaken. Um, he didn't know he could use charm on other supernaturals until he got to the hospital, so how exactly were they going to get the nurse to perform this task and look the other way? He says he wanted to wake the new vamp and have him see the sun for the last time and then have the sun burn him up. Only when he got there, realizing there were no windows and therefore no sun in the room. Ridiculous as the vamp ward is literally below ground to ensure no sun exposure, and he had visited it beforehand so he knows this. Lastly Though BOTH are supposed to be smart and there is this big to do to try to avoid people they know, it's a bloody hospital...there are cameras EVERYWHERE!!
-one lead takes unnecessary risks
3 minutes until the end and we are still holding our breath. There is all this angst and no satisfactory end to any of it. I would have LOVED to have Russ stand up to, and stick it to his clan, but nope.
The HEA? we don't get one. We have to assume there is one. I have never been so frustrated by a book.
disappointing and frustrating
