Frederica Kimball had been waiting all her life...waiting to grow up...waiting forever for the day when Nicholas LeBeck would fall as desperately in love with her as she had always been with him.

Nick didn't know what had hit him. Sweet, adorable Freddie, whom he'd always loved like a kid sister, was suddenly all woman. And his feelings for her were anything but brotherly!

Disappointed

Was disappointed in this book. I loved all the other ones of this series but, this one was a little disappointing. I didn't like the pushiness of Freddie the fact that with everything Nick has been through they didn't see that Freddie is family and they should stay that way. I am only at the beginning but so far... :( They was her fault but, yet they always make the guys beg, so very disappointed, she should go begging, instead of Nick feeling so guilty. Of all the NR books I have read, this is my least favorite!!

Recommended

Nick had a difficult life. It all came to a head when he was caught stealing electronics when he was 17. Rachel, his public defender entered his life and he turned it all around. That was also when he met Fredricka, Rachel's niece. Fred loved Nick since that first day. Now years later, all grown up she takes her chance and goes after her hearts desire. Note: Freddy's good friends, the O'Hurley's, are introduced to Nick.

Waiting For Nick

After listening to several other books in this series being read by the narrator, I was pleasantly surprised that there was less use of the fake accents, nasally and whiny voice that was used on other characters. It was like the narrator was finally getting the feel of the characters and letting them bleed through the reading.

SPOILED ROTTEN and TRULY OBNOXIOUS

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes - Give Freddie some humility. She is very unlikable throughout.

What was most disappointing about Nora Roberts’s story?

The Stanislaski's are a charming family, very warm and fun loving. I have listened to all the books in the series, except for Considering Kate, which I have downloaded. Freddie was a charming daddy's girl in the series. I anticipated this book and was so looking forward to listening to it. Oh my! It's the first Nora Roberts book that I truly didn't enjoy. Freddie was a spoiled rotten brat, for lack of better words. I like Nick, the kid who has had some hard knocks. It was amazing the amount of placation that was involved. Very disappointed.

Which character – as performed by Christina Traister – was your favorite?

Mikhail and Natasha - love her Ukranian accent.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Terrible narrator

The storyline was a bit predictable. Not one of the best. The narrator was awful.

Maybe I'm being harsh however...

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who likes obnoxious spoiled women. I haven't read/listened to any other books in the series and if the characters are 1/2 as annoying as the main female in this book I just don't want to know.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I listened to Jude Deveraux's "Ever After" once this books was completed. That story was wonderful, both the story and narration.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Christina Traister?

Anybody, why is it so many female narrators can not narrate male voices without them sounding stupid and slow? The main male voice displays no emotion and the female sounds superior.
