À propos de cet audio

Amanda Knox spent four years in a foreign prison for a crime she did not commit. In the fall of 2007, the 20-year-old college coed left Seattle to study abroad in Italy, but her life was shattered when her roommate was murdered in their apartment. After a controversial trial, Amanda was convicted and imprisoned. But in 2011, an appeals court overturned the decision and vacated the murder charge. Free at last, she returned home to the U.S., where she has remained silent, until now.

Filled with details first recorded in the journals Knox kept while in Italy, Waiting to Be Heard is a remarkable story of innocence, resilience, and courage, and of one young woman’s hard-fought battle to overcome injustice and win the freedom she deserved. With intelligence, grace, and candor, Amanda Knox tells the full story of her harrowing ordeal in Italy - a labyrinthine nightmare of crime and punishment, innocence and vindication - and of the unwavering support of family and friends who tirelessly worked to help her win her freedom.

Such an unreal tale of corruption, resilience and strength. What Meredith, Amanda and Raphael experienced is absolutely unthinkable.

Oh My God.

I don’t have the words to express how much this book moved me. Amanda‘s account of the truth is gripping, heart -wrenching and unbelievably inspiring as she chronicles her most traumatic experience. For anybody who wants to understand what actually happened, this is the book for you.

Hard to believe that something like this can even happen... but I'm well aware that it must certainly does.
Just a terrifying experience for a young woman in a new country in her own!!!
Brilliantly narrrated

Everything you hoped for with this story

Unbelievably long and self absorbed and self serving. Any empathy expressed for Meredith and her family sounds cognitive, or non-existent. Comes across like a victim and still doesn’t seem to comprehend how she comes across. The epilogue dismount and final statements sounded like an Oscar’s speech, and Amanda is the “hero” of the story who has defeated and overcome.

While listening I felt angry and annoyed. Now I’m just left feeling embarrassed for this person. I accept that she was innocent of Meredith’s murder. I also think she should have a brain scan to check to see if her amygdala is actually working.

I wanted to have my mind changed by this book. Unfortunately it just affirmed my thoughts.

Best wishes Amanda.
