No one writes like Bernard Cornwell. That what I think every time I read any other medieval saga. No one knows how to build characters, nor describes fight scenes, nor can build up epic moments like him. I have read several other books written by BC and I believe he will always be my favourite writer.

I loved this series right from the first page of the first book. Thirteen books later it is still entertaining. Matt Bates was perfect for this series. Thank Mr. Cromwell for the many hours of entertainment and history. I would love to see a continuing of the next son of Utred and the possible adventures he could have .... hint hint
