À propos de cet audio
I thought surviving the war was hard. Turns out, being a celebrity war hero at magic school comes with its own unique challenges.
Just when I was getting comfortable with my new life at Stoneway Academy, the monsters in the Shadow Wood of Misery decided to get a lot more aggressive, and I can't help but feel like it's my problem to deal with.
My social situation has gotten... complicated. My vampire obsessed roommate still insists I'm undead, my demon familiar keeps plotting world domination through the most questionable means necessary, and now I've got to figure out with a certain bossy dragon-girl who claims to hate my guts. Add in a nosy reporter following my every move, and my student life is anything but quiet.
But the real problems run deeper than romantic entanglements and monster attacks. There's something rotten in the political landscape of Caldia, and my girls are getting caught in the crossfire. When the academy decides to send students on a hunt for the King of the Forest, I discover that some threats come from much closer to home than the depths of a monster-infested wood.
Between dodging marriage-hungry noble families and trying not to let my blood magic turn me back into the weapon I used to be, I've got my hands full. Good thing I've got four incredible witches watching my back—even if one of them is still convinced I'm going to bite her neck.
Peace might be harder to protect than I thought, but I'll be damned if I let anyone threaten the life I'm building with the women I love.

The main character is a traumatized war hero turned college student who has come to accept his role as warlock of a harem of three witches (and one familiar imp) in a nation where such harems are not only encouraged, but strongly pushed through propaganda and laws. But unlike so many harem books, each of the girls continues to get her own time in the book - not just conquered and forgotten. We get to explore more about the past and motivations of each girl rather than frantically adding more (which is not to say we DON'T add another witch in this book). In addition, the dialogue continues to shine, with several moments that made me laugh out loud - which is a bit embarrassing on the subway. It's voiced by a very talented duo, with very clear differences between the characters.
Another thing I have come to dislike about harem books is that they usually ignore other men or portray them as evil and undeserving of a harem. This book avoids that, with every warlock having his own harem, and also introducing at least a few warlocks who seem like decent people.
The final pitfall that so many harem books fall into is to have sex scenes overpower the plot. Is there sex in this book? Yes, there absolutely is. But there's also several plot lines, and the book doesn't lose track of them.
Is everything perfect? Of course not. Sometimes it feels like the main character is a bit overpowered, and we keep seeing other men as the villains. The over-the-top sexual obsession of the main character's familiar continues to toe the line between silly and just plain off-putting. But the book also continues to surprise and amuse me, and that's what I came here for. All in all, this series continues to stand out as good writing in a genre dominated by mediocre books.
