À propos de cet audio
Jason King and Will Slater, the two most lethal operatives in government history, are out on their own.
They’ve been through their personal journeys into hell, but they unite in New York City as brothers in arms. So begins a vigilante crusade against the city’s morally bankrupt inhabitants.
But their private war doesn’t last long. Sometimes you can’t escape the past, no matter how hard you try. They’re revisited by old government contacts with an agenda, and soon enough they’re fighting tooth and nail to prevent the destabilization of the entire country. Outnumbered, overwhelmed, beat down, battered, broken - it's just another day at the office.

This story makes that look like a PG-13 effort.
'Will Slater' and 'Jason King' are disillusioned former Special Forces operatives that are drawn into an international covert war between American BlackOps interests and aggressive Mexican cartels hired by the Chinese. Matt Rogers pens a fairly cookie-cutter "superagent" story - with THREE fighting/killing experts instead of a Lone Wolf - and a 2-Dimensional "Kill Bad Guys" plot.. but does a nice job of it. The action is choreographed quite nicely, and Rogers's descriptions are mind's-eye vivid.
Less fortunately, reader Kevin Kenerly lets the book down with a below-average performance. To be certain, his diction and voice-acting are creditable.. but he reads with a baffling whispery timbre, a stilted cadence, and an oddly unemotional tone. Podium Audio could have cast this much better.
You definitely need to set aside logic to appreciate this silly superviolent story (no-one is ever going to confuse this fare with "literature"), but 'Weapons' is an 8/10-star entry that is on-par with Greaney (Grey Man), Flynn (American Assassin), Pendleton (Mack Bolan), and Child (Jack Reacher) within the genre. Don't make these the only stuff you read, but it won't rot your brain too badly when taken in moderation.
I am pleased that I was able to get this audiobook as a 'Plus' selection.. because it would merit a Credit if they asked for one.
