The devil is in the details of the second coming. Literally. The evil one commands a scorched-earth policy as his domain shrinks and his days as a roaming lion draw short. As such, he mocks Christians who argue over the minutiae of Christ’s return. He sneers when self-proclaimed prophets “reveal” details about the second coming to which even Jesus wasn’t privy on earth. And he laughs fiendishly when Christians split churches and quarrel over elaborate timetables of the end of days.
These theological fights keep Christians distracted so we fail to prepare properly for Christ’s glorious appearing. We often devote so much attention to the chronological details, we forget the many beliefs Christians share in common about Christ’s return.
It’s that common ground we seek to regain in What Every Christian Should Know About The Return of Jesus. Specifically, this study focuses on the truths about Christ’s second coming that are plainly stated in Scripture, and on which nearly all Christians agree. With the non-negotiables of Christ’s imminent return in view, we are better prepared. And we’re better equipped to share the good news that the returning Jesus came the first time to secure our salvation.
