À propos de cet audio
On June 7, 1992, in Springfield, Missouri, Suzanne "Suzie" Streeter, her friend Stacy McCall, and Streeter's mother, Sherrill Levitt, disappeared from Levitt's residence without a trace. Police found the televisions on, clothing where it should be, and the family dog safely inside. There was no indication of forced entry, no evidence of assault or violent abduction. The family’s cars were locked. The neighbors reported nothing.
News spread quickly, with hypotheses about the "Springfield Three" discussed as fervently as the speculation over who killed JonBenét Ramsey just a few years later. Segments by America’s Most Wanted, 48 Hours, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and a People magazine article produced thousands of leads. A task force of FBI agents and police worked round the clock for months, resulting in more than 20,000 pages of forensics and analysis. Detectives interviewed a dozen persons of interest. And yet, more than thirty years after the disappearance, the case has never been solved.
In White Pines and Stone, former FBI Special Agent Christopher Whitcomb and FBI: Most Wanted’s Dylan McDermott draw on their own deeply personal connections to this case—as well as files only previously seen by law enforcement officers—to reveal the chilling details, the suspects who have interested authorities over the years, and the newly discovered investigative breakthroughs they hope will lead them to the women's bodies in what they believe to be a forest of “white pines and stone." Together, they will shed new light on an infamous case that has captured the public's attention like few others.
