Description

The hero of Will Save the Galaxy for Cash returns to do what he does best. Which is - what again, exactly?

With the age of heroic star pilots and galactic villains completely killed by quantum teleportation, the ex-star pilot currently named Dashford Pierce is struggling to find his identity in a changing universe.

Then, a face from his past returns and makes him an offer he can't refuse: take part in just one teeny weeny, slightly illegal, daring heist, and not only will he have the means to start the new life he craves, but also save his childhood hero from certain death.

How hard could that be? If you need to ask - you don’t know Dashford Pierce.

Before long, Pierce is surrounded by peril, and forced to partner with the very same supervillains he'd spent his heroic career thwarting. But when he's confronted by the uncomfortable truth that star pilots might not have been the force for good they had intended to be, he begins to wonder if the villains hadn't had the right idea all along....

A good laugh

jacques mckeown's at it agian! the new characters are fantastically written, the world building is great. Mckeown's cynicism portrayed by Yahtzee never ceases to amuse and im looking forward to his next adventure, or mishap, depending on your definition.

Yahtzee's Best Book So Far

I really enjoy all the books Yahtzee has put out so far, but Will Destroy the Galaxy for Cash is by far my favourite. It's a wonderful romp through space that's dripping with satire and sarcasm. I'm seriously hoping for more books in this series as they have definitely taken their rightful place in my top 5 series of all time.

Yahtzee knocked it out of the park again

With Hemmingway-esque brevity and pure dry wit the author has penned another rip roaring tale. If you liked the first you'll love this one. But, no need to read the previous one, he'll catch you up on what's necessary to know. Not to mention the bastard reads quite well, as, you should know he does in his job as an online video game critic. This of course has honed his sense for what makes a good story. And of course he puts it to good use.

Light entertainment

Doesn’t pretend to be serious science fiction—humanity has progressed BEYOND interstellar spaceship travel, but somehow everybody still uses 2020-era smartphones, desktop computers, and inkjet printers! Quite witty and funny though.

A Crazy Chaotic Caper That Keeps On Giving

Yahtzee's bizarre comedy and fluid storytelling is super compelling. Awesome follow-up to the first story

Amazing again

Another outstanding audio book from a master story teller. This book is laugh out loud funny. Croshaw's mastery of simile and metaphor shines brightly again. The story is another wild ride through this crazy universe and I cant get enough of it. Dare I say, Yahtzee Croshaw is the Douglas Adams for a new generation.

Yahtzee Croshaw is definitely now on my auto-buy list. That exclusive list in my head of authors where if I see a new book out by them on audible I buy it, I don't read the synopsis or any reviews, its just add to cart and purchase.

Plying Fantastic!!!

Absolutely love this series and I'll get down on my knees to grovel before Sir Croshaw in the hope he will one day bequeath another sequel! Also if you've bought "Will Save the Galaxy for Food" and have yet to purchase this then I'd ask how the brain eating worms inside your head are doing.

Submerge yourself in satire

I enjoyed the previous book in the series so I was excited to see that another came out. It’s got all of the fun things you could want from a satire on Sci-Fi plus A heist which was a fun bonus. Over all I enjoyed my self. I’m always a fan of when the author reads the book too.

Even Better Sequel

Great story that takes the McKeown saga (as labeled by Yahtzee Croshaw) in a completely different direction from the first book. Interesting themes, great villain and shocking ending, that all in all makes me wish I could read/listen to the third book right now. Amazing work.

Yahtzee has evolved so much as an author.

While I like all of Yahtzee's books, this one has got to be his best. It flows, it has copious amounts of hilarious characters, great moments, exciting developments and a fantastic universe I don't want to leave. I hope this turns into atleast a trilogy, and if not, I'm pretty sure in saying that whatever Yahtzee's next book will be, it will be fantastic. He's on a winning streak.

A solid sequel

In my opinion, this isn't Yahtzee's strongest book, but it's still brilliant! It manages to allow those who enjoyed "Will Save the Galaxy for Food" to feel immersed in the references to it, while still being completely comprehensible to someone listening to it on its own. I personally recommend checking out the previous book, or "Differently Morphous", if you're new to Yahtzee's work, but this book is still excellent.

Extremly Funny And Worth the Credit

Will Destroy the Galaxy for Cash is an excellent follow up to Will Save the Galaxy for Food. Having read Croshaw's other works, this one really stands out to me as being one of the funnier entries. The nameless protagonist must take up the mantle of Jacques McKeown once again, and suffer through insufferable fans, reformed villains, and passive-aggressive psychopaths. Yathzee's caustic wit is on full display here with multiple one-liners that made me pause the recording because I was laughing so hard. I particularly liked the Jacques McCon scenes as they reminded me of the hijinks you might see in a Terry Pratchet novel. Croshaw does an excellent job of narrating the main characters. Each has a distinctive pitch and cadence that you might expect from professional voice actors. It really emphasizes the dry wit of the author, and makes it easy to tell who is talking. I will definitely be re-reading this in the future.

Croshaw is back with another fun romp

Fast paced and funny story that is hilariously narrated by the author. Our protagonist finds himself looking for work--again--and runs into a certain trouble maker from his past who throws a big wrench into his plans.

It has been fascinating to watch Croshaw's storytelling skills evolve. I am a huge fan of his earlier works like Jam and MogWorld, and also appreciate these newer stories where he spends more time on plot and character development. Well, that sounded like a backhanded compliment, which it was not meant to be, as his earlier works were fun romps where as his more recent works are a bit more in depth.

As always, his narration just makes the story for me. His inflections and pacing are hilarious. I really want to see how the protagonist gets himself out of his newest predicament!
