Ms Kriss has used a different male narrator along with Ms Arndt in each of the previous 6 books set in The Road Kings world, but returned to Jason Clarke again to portray Travis, the former lead singer from the now defunct 7 Dog Down. I adored Jason as Denver Gilchrist ( lead singer and lyricist for The Road Kings) and I was worried having him voice the formerly hated vocalist for a rival band, but trust JC to portray Travis in a way that emphasizes his journey out of the void of depression ( after the implosion of his band and life) back to a musician and artist deserving of the love of Ms Arndt's Katie ( a much beloved Netflix romcom queen). Both performances were as always with these two actors, and that's what these two are - ACTORS- wonderful!
