Description
Sergeant Jo Barnes (Hilary Swank) and her elite, all-female US Army investigative team are renowned for cracking complex sex-crime cases within the military. Adequately Entertaining
There's nothing *particularly* impressive about this Radioplay. The writing is television screenplay-quality (realistic dialogue with enough description embedded in the text to create mind's-eye imagery).. but unspectacular overall.
Duane Swierczynski - along with insanely prolific author James Patterson - puts together a creditable Crime/Cover-Up plot that frequently reminded me of 'A Few Good Men'.. while succumbing to some "Entitled Rich Frat Boy" clichés when dealing with the perpetrators.
The Full Cast performance is likewise hit & miss: voice-acted nicely, emotive, and backed up by exemplary technical support from Audible Originals Inc.. but burdened with exceptionally quick cuts that make the recording seem "rushed" somehow. A fraction of a second delay between lines and very slightly increased intervals between scene changes would have improved this recording markedly.
Altogether, 'Zero Tolerance' is a fine way to spend a quiet afternoon. As an included ('Plus') selection, this 6/10-star offering is definitely worth a download.. but spend your Credit on something else should they ask for one.

Such a fun story!
I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure! The ending was not a surprise but this story is all about the journey. I very much look forward to future stories with the Zero Tolerance kickass team.

Heard better from James Patterson
I enjoy James Patterson‘s books. I personally found having all the different characters spoken by different people in the book distracting and I feel the narrator was acting not narrating I prefer one narrator that has a range of voice characters. I wood like audible books to only have narration not music as it is not as relaxing for me.

Awesome!
Great storyline. Excellent production value. Voice talent exceptional. I’ve always loved James Patterson. Not sure how much of a role he actually played in this, but it’s good!

Entertaining
The storyline is fast. I can see this being a series. The narration was very good. Fan of Hilary Swank. Well done as per James Patterson and Duane Swierczynski. Definitely will listen/read anything by this combo again.

Not brilliant but fairly enjoyable
The author’s knowledge of military protocols clearly left something to be desired, but the story itself was pretty engaging for one that was this short. The performances were mostly good too, although I thought the Baldwin character was somewhat over-acted most of the time. There were a couple of stutters in the audio playback as well, but nothing bad enough to ruin the experience. So on the whole I found this to be a reasonably enjoyable listen even though it had some flaws.

if you have been in the army it is not good
It's like they took a civilian drama and forced it into an army stage. f you have been in the army it is not good.. the authors did no research into army etiquette and army communication. the army talks their own language. for example we all call each other by our last names and insubordination is not tolerated and privates don't take weapons with them on leave..the story is ok but the army interaction is terrible. like the private telling a criminal investigator they can't arrest him. not feasible. not likely. it would only mean more criminal citations.

Unrealistic adolescent girl power prattle.
This is the worse thing I have ever listened to on audible. Audible is capable of some great stuff. How this slipped through the editorial/publishing process I have no idea. James Patterson is getting old and his editorial judgement is slipping.

This is an Embarrassment and its Offensive
Where to begin... I am not in the military nor do i even really know anyone in the military. I guess I am a feminist but have never written any type of review or comment about feminism, to be clear. But I am offended on behalf of all members of our military that might have been the subject of any type of harassment or abuse. To portray the offender as you did in this story, as an entitled little rich kid with a father who gets him out of trouble and someone who speaks so outwardly disrespectful to females is making it seem like he is the typical predator in the military or in business. True predators, bullies and harassers are MUCH more subtle in their bullying and on the outside they look like perfect members of whatever their work organization is. In front of coworkers, they ARE respectful and follow orders. They seem to be upstanding people and that's why its sooo hard to prove what happens behind closed doors. You had the chance to show that subtlety-to write a story about what zero tolerance should be in a realistic way. But instead you mixed it up with nepotism and what the rich get away with. You just muddied it up to the point where the whole short story is one big eye roll. Why on earth couldn't you just write a story about a guy in the military who quietly and CAREFULLY carries on his harassment instead of making him a caricature of a stereotype? The defense lawyer is a joke-no high powered lawyer speaks that way in court. You made her look like an idiot. Other than Hilary Swank, there is so much overacting,-its just so amateur. I am actually surprised Hilary agreed to narrate this as she is on a show that takes abuse and violence against women seriously (The Daily Alaskan.) This book is so far below her. As for James Patterson, I can't believe he even wrote this and it makes me think his co-writer did most of the writing. It's just so far below a Patterson short story. I gave up when the ONE PIECE of incriminating evidence was mistakenly or randomly included in the discovery packet. Are you kidding me? What a farce. My three year old granddaughter could have written a better story. One of the worst Audibles I have ever listened to.

Leaves a lot to be desired.
Please research Army/military protocols
This reads like any run of the mill TV show. Privates flying sophisticated helicopters? Sargeants ordering officers? A criminal investigation division would be intimately familiar with the UCMJ and Army Regulations. Come on!

Military Veterans will not like this
If you have not served in the military, you will love this. If you did serve, you would be upset at all the inaccuracies that you spot. I only listened to part of the first chapter and here are some of the errors I found:
1) People in the military do not call each other by first name. It is rank and last name usually.
2) Sgt, Barnes' team is composed of a Lt, who is a lawyer, and a Pvt, who is an investigator.
a) An enlisted Sgt is NOT gonna be in charge of an officer Lt.
b) Military officers who are lawyers are part of the JAG Corps, not CID
c) The Criminal Investigator MOS is not open to Officers and neither anybody below the rank of Sgt.
I get that this is a work of fiction and have much respect for Patterson's work, but as a Veteran, I respectfully have to give my disapproval.

Gripping
To be honest, I would listen to Hilary Swank read her grocery list, so I was a bit predisposed to loving her in this too. As usual, she did not disappoint. This was an awesome audible original, extremely well written, acted, mixed, and produced, and it kept me glued to my audible app from beginning to end. The story stretches plausibility at several points, but it’s all presented so flawlessly that you can overlook the sillier elements. Great fun. Highly recommended!
