Dante recently competed in the European Tango Championship in Italy with Rebecca, and came first in vals, second in milonga, and reached the final of the tango de pista category. Dante also came second in the solo milonguero category.
I catch up with him just before a local milonga, and we chat in the garden about various aspects of tango competitions, why he competes, how he prepares, and his general reflections about tango competitions.

Dante is a director of the Oxford Tango Academy and the Northern Tango Academy.
Dante & Rebecca entered the 15th European Tango Championship, held in Bellaria Igea Marina, Italy, in June 2025
