During a session, a practitioner places their hands on or just above the recipient, aiming to balance energy flows, which is believed to help with physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Reiki is considered a simple, natural, and safe method of energy healing that is often used alongside other medical treatments for relaxation and wellbeing, though scientific evidence for its effectiveness is lacking.
