Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks. February is going out with a bang. High pressure sliding off the Atlantic coast is pulling a river of warm air straight up from the south. We're talking one of the warmest February days in years. In the next 24 hours. Western Maryland takes the crown today. Garrett and Allegany counties climb to 62 degrees under sunshine. That's more mid-April than late winter. Down in Baltimore Metro, you hit 59. Central Maryland sits a touch cooler at 52, but still well above normal for this time of year. Tonight, reality knocks. A cold front from Canada slides in. No rain expected, but temperatures drop to the upper 30s and low 40s. Patchy fog may develop toward sunrise. Sunday brings the hangover. That front sags south and winds flip northerly. Highs only reach the upper 40s to around 50. A slight chance of rain early, then gusty northwest winds up to 22 miles an hour by afternoon. Sunday night turns genuinely cold with lows in the 20s statewide. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Monday stays chilly in the mid-30s. Tuesday brings our next weathermaker. A retreating warm front could deliver a wintry mix early, flipping to rain by afternoon. Wednesday through Friday features a warming trend with highs climbing back into the 60s, though rain chances linger. Enjoy this gift of a day. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight now. and the spring equinox is just 20 days away. Get outside if you can. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
