George and Stephen both draw on years of experience in business and consultancy to explain how training, psychology and the correct methods of communication can impact a business. Both explain the role of line managers in the process and the importance of ensuring staff feel valued and informed in the long term success of a company whether it be a large organisation or SME.
George joins the podcast for the third time as Assistant Professor in Leadership and Management here at the School of Management. Having set up multiple businesses himself and been director of half a dozen more in both public and private sectors he has years of industry experience to build on. He has also been a business consultant and has particular interest in the psychology of the workplace.
Stephen has 37 years of experience working in the power industry across various roles engaging with people at all levels across organisations. His experience was often challenging but hs been the basis of his learning for effective commnication in diverse settings. In 2020 he launched his own coaching business allowing him to share his experience with others with a particular interest on effective communication in both business and personal settings.
