À propos de cet audio
My guest, who chooses to remain anonymous, was sexually assaulted for several years by a school teacher at the age of 15 and also by a neighbour at the age of 9. The trauma she had experienced in these formative years led to a nervous breakdown and an identity crisis.
For most of her adult life, she has been trying to get her old self back through personal development courses, therapy, coaching and more to fix the pain she was feeling inside.
However, through all the attempts to fix herself, the connection between the nervous breakdown and the sexual abuse eluded her. In her mind, the abuse was all her responsibility and therefore she couldn’t see or accept the impact the abuse was having on her mental and emotional wellbeing or admit that she was a victim of a crime.
Only recently, after decades of soul searching has she discovered the path home to peace, stability and healing.
I want to thank my courageous guest for her bravery in discussing this topic, which will serve as inspiration for so many who live with the feeling that they are permanently damaged by trauma like sexual abuse.
