  • A Bridge Between Episode #168 "Not by Sight Alone" (4th Sunday in Lent. March 15th, 2026)
    Mar 9 2026

In this episode Fr. Dave and Fr. Alex discuss the healing of the man born blind, why the Pharisees were blind to what Jesus was doing, and how we need to check our blind spots.

Thanks for watching and listening to this year's Lenten series: Not by Bread Alone.

    Here are your discussion questions.

    1. An ongoing theme in the Gospel of John center around darkness and light, sight vs blindness. What do you think Jesus meant when he pointed out the blindness of the Pharisees who were criticizing his healing on the sabbath?

    2. Being aware of our blind spots is vital to a healthy spiritual life where we run from sin and run towards grace. What are some of your blind spots when it comes to personal accountability and the spiritual practices that help us grow in our relationship with God?

  • A Bridge Between Episode #165 "Not By Bread Alone" - (1st Sunday in Lent. February 22nd, 2026).
    Feb 16 2026

In this episode, Fr. Dave and Fr. Alex start their Lenten Season Series "Not by Bread Alone". Over the next several weeks of Lent, the guys will discuss what it means to depend on God rather than the world.

In week 1, we find Jesus in the wilderness being tempted by Satan. The first temptation, in the face of severe hunger, is for Jesus to turn stones into bread. Jesus replies that "one doesn't live by bread alone but rather by every word that comes from the mouth of God."

    Table Talk Questions

    1. In the ancient world, bread was the staple food, the most basic nutrition that people had in order to live. But Jesus says that the Word of God is more important than even that. Discuss your relationship to God's word. Do you read the Bible regularly? Do you find comfort and strength in Scripture or do you find yourself more often than not confused by what you read?

    2. Jesus faced real temptation because he is both God and human. What does it mean for you and for us that Jesus faced temptation just like we do?
