  • Gummo (1997) Film Review

    The A24 Rocks crew looks back at the first feature film Harmony Korine directed, the controversial Criterion classic Gummo. Korine directed one of the most famous A24 films in Spring Breakers, so these film reviewers wondered what kind of filmmaking themes Korine established early in his career. And to say the least, controversy was always in his wheelhouse. Gummo is a non-linear story about Xenia, Ohio, a tornado ravaged town with two boys named Solomon and Tummler hunting cats for money.     The Kill Team is a 2019 "war" drama starring Nat Wolff and Alexander Skarsgaard that is a based on a true story of the war crimes of a U.S. military platoon in Afghanistan. Nat Wolff portrays U.S. Army member Andrew Briggman who joined the military believing he would serve his country valiantly. But soon after Sergeant Deeks (portrayed by Alexander Skarsgaard) takes over as leader of his platoon, Briggman realizes that the mission they're on is not valiant whatsoever. Writer and Director Dan Krauss also directed the 2013 documentary of the same name. Caution: movie spoilers.
