    A Florida jury convicted 59-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh of attempting to assassinate then-candidate Donald Trump, assaulting a Secret Service agent, and multiple gun charges. Seconds after the verdict, Routh tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen as his daughter screamed for him to stop and U.S. Marshals intervened. Routh, who represented himself, faces a possible life sentence. President Donald Trump praised the conviction on social media, thanking the Justice Department and the jury.
