What if America was "allowed" to win the Revolutionary War? What if Benjamin Franklin struck a closed-door deal with the Crown, France and European leaders to facilitate the emergence of a strong-willed western hemispherical partner in trade and war, while creating the illusion that Americans were no longer subjects of the monarchy? Nearly every global conflict involving the United States could somehow be traced to the British Empire. It might appear that the U.S. was destined to be their proverbial "muscle" in resolving such situations. Plenty of examples of throughout history. Did the Patriots really win? Are we living an illusion? Are we all still somehow subjected to the whims of the European royalty?
