    Jul 11 2025

“It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman!” The saga continues with the premiere of the latest iteration of The Man of Steel. There have been numerous films depicting the heroics of the most famous superhero of them all. Frequent contributor Karl Petry joins us with a survey of the films that have carried the legend forward.

American Road magazine has featured drive-in movie theaters in multiple issues, with a notable "A Night at the Drive-In" series focusing on these outdoor cinemas. The magazine's Summer 2014 issue, titled "A Night at the Drive-In 2," highlighted 32 drive-ins and included an interview with Burt Reynolds about his experiences with the drive-in movie scene. The magazine also explores the history and evolution of drive-ins, including their place in American roadside architecture and their adaptation to modern times.
