Before having kids, she spent years teaching nutrition lessons to elementary school students through the SNAP-funded Pick a Better Snack initiative. The program is designed to influence children’s food choices by helping them become more familiar with fruits and vegetables, learn fun ways to eat them and increase their overall consumption at school and at home.
