  • Miami LOADS UP in the spring transfer portal — should that excite or concern?
    May 7 2025

Miami has been very active in the spring transfer portal, grabbing multiple players who likely will wind up either starting or playing major roles for the Hurricanes this season.

The latest is former Auburn DB Keionte Scott, who spent the spring at Houston but reunites with former Auburn and Houston secondary coach Zac Etheridge in Miami. The Hurricanes also have added former Texas kicker Bert Auburn, former North Dakota State tailback CharMar Brown, former N.C. State linebacker Kamal Bonner, former Cincinnati receiver Tony Johnson and former BYU receiver/kick returner Keelon Marion.

Can the Hurricanes get to the College Football Playoff with this roster?

Also, ESPN’s Heather Dinich said Tuesday that the seeding still might change for the 2025 College Football Playoff. Everyone agrees the seeding should change, but for everyone outside the Big Ten and SEC there is little incentive to make that change for this year.

Later, Andy and Ari pick their favorite On3 graphics…

(59:23-1:01:03) Conclusion: Watch Jared Curtis' commitment LIVE on Monday

Michigan has self-imposed a two-game suspension for head coach Sherrone Moore ahead of its Committee on Infractions hearing with the NCAA, ESPN reports.

Moore will miss the Central Michigan and Nebraska games — along with some recruiting restrictions — in a move that Michigan hopes will satisfy the NCAA with regard to Moore’s part in the Connor Stalions’ scandal.

The top-rated quarterback in the class of 2026 makes his college decision today! Jared Curtis, a 6-4, 225-pounder from Nashville, is choosing between Georgia and Oregon.

Steve Wiltfong, On3’s vice president of recruiting and transfer portal, joins Andy and Ari to handicap his pick and explain what it means for the rest of the recruiting cycle.

  • Michigan State needs a new AD. Could Sparty hire North Carolina's Bubba Cunningham? Kentucky Derby Preview
    May 2 2025

    (0:00-2:38) Intro: Kentucky Derby Weekend

    (43:21-47:51) Wrapping up with Nick
    (47:52-51:11) Conclusion

Michigan State is looking for a new athletic director who is equipped to lead the Spartans in the NIL era. Could that AD be North Carolina’s Bubba Cunningham, who didn’t lead the charge to hire Bill Belichick and who probably isn’t keen on dealing with the Belichick situation now?

Andy and Ari discuss some of the wild details of why Alan Haller’s tenure fell apart in East Lansing.

Later, Nick Roush of Kentucky Sports Radio joins to talk Kentucky Derby. Nick offers tips on who to bet in the Derby and in the undercard races on Saturday.

Nick also breaks down Kentucky football in 2025. Will the Wildcats get back to the style of play that made them consistent winners under Mark Stoops?

Also, Nick is waiting for the apologies from Tennessee fans who got mad when he called Nico Iamaleava an “$8 million volleyball player” last fall.

  • Is Bill Belichick at North Carolina going to work, or is it going to BLOW UP?
    May 1 2025

We hosted Andy & Ari On3 LIVE from the Draft in Green Bay last week, and it was a blast. Thanks to Culver’s for bringing us to the Great Wisconsin Tailgate.

Born in Wisconsin, Culver’s is the home of the legendary ButterBurger, Fresh Frozen Custard and Wisconsin Cheese Curds—there’s no better representation of America’s Dairyland than that.

But Culver’s isn’t just in Wisconsin. There’s one near you now. So grab a ButterBurger and a Cement Mixer and let’s talk some football.

    (1:25:57-1:26:52) Conclusion: Happy Anniversary, Ari!

It’s a Dear Andy/Dear Ari show, and you have some incredible questions…

Will coaches savor beating Bill Belichick the way they savor beating Deion Sanders?

Also, who will play Belichick in the inevitable Lifetime movie about his relationship with Jordon Hudson?

If the SEC goes to nine conference games, what currently scheduled non-conference games might get canceled?

    What is USC’s ceiling?

    Was Quinn Ewers mis-evaluated?

(1:01:28-1:02:45) Conclusion: Dear Andy & Ari Tomorrow! Andystapleson3@gmail.com

We’re still discussing Andy’s post-spring top 25, and it’s time to have an extended discussion about the team at No. 1. Texas is transitioning to Arch Manning as its starting quarterback, and the expectations are sky-high.

But the discussion around where Quinn Ewers went in the draft has become a broader discussion about Texas and Manning, and Ari is fired up about the Manning bashing that has seeped into the conversation. Andy, meanwhile, is fascinated by the Arch Manning Paradox.

Andy wrote about the SEC and the continuing debate over whether to add a ninth conference game. Now it seems the decision hinges on what the new College Football Playoff format looks like.

North Carolina coach Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson continues to make news following a weird appearance on CBS Sunday Morning. Who knew the greatest coach in NFL history coming to college football was going to provide so much fodder for TMZ?

(1:03:06-1:13:51) WR Trebor Pena to Penn State
    (1:13:52-1:15:33) Conclusion

The NFL draft is in the books, and the Shedeur Sanders story continues to dominate. He finally got picked Saturday by Cleveland in the fifth round, but the weirdest story in the draft took a bizarre turn Sunday when one of the people who prank-called Sanders on Friday night was revealed to be the son of the Falcons’ defensive coordinator.

The draft story that will become a more interesting college football story in December and January is what happened to Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. He was taken in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins, meaning he probably would have made far more in NIL money by transferring and playing another season of college football.

Trebor Pena has decided he will be going to Penn State from Syracuse. Is this James Franklin's missing piece for the Nittany Lions?
