Hello and welcome to Antiques Anonymous, the podcast where two friends who work in the antiques industry, talk about antiques, collectables, fine art and plenty more besides. Hosted by auctioneer Alexander Clement and antiques dealer Jon O'Marah, the chat will include top auctions, top lots, top tips and plenty of inside intel, anecdotes and maybe even some gossip. If you are an antiques geek, like Alexander and Jon, then join them for their rambling and sometimes incoherent podcast.

Episode 13 of Antiques Anonymous finds Jon and Alexander talking all about provenance. That thing all auctioneers and valuers love, and can make even a modest antique worth millions. Along the way, Alexander fails to remember the naughty bits in James Cameron's Titanic movie, the boys discuss what on Earth goes on in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and yet another sampler makes piles of cash in 'Did They Get It Wrong'. All this and more, plus a little tease for the next episode - the AA Christmas Special. You can't wait, can you?

  • Cereal Purchasing Ghost: A (Belated) Halloween Special
    Nov 10 2025

In this spooky episode, Jon and Alexander talk monsters, ghosts and general weirdness in the world of antiques. But we start with a toast to Jon's late father, a larger than life character who will be greatly missed. Then we hear how Alexander was literally confronted with a creature from his nightmares, and the time when Jon attempted to shoot a ghost with a BB gun. And the two try to analyse a bit of video footage seeming to show some poltergeist activity at a saleroom in Royal Wootton Bassett. In a slightly different version of 'Did They Get It Wrong', we hear about two cases from the same auction house of under-valuing and over-valuing (arguably). Don't forget to rate, review and subscribe.

  • How to Lose $248 million
    Oct 1 2025

Heavy on the ASMR, in this episode Jonny and Alexander open a bottle of Rioja and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps while discussing the latest news in the world of antiques. The rambling convo involves Christie's dropping digital art, Sotheby's massive losses and the Thornhill collection's new (temporary) home. Jonny also reveals why he doesn't like Moorcroft or Della Robbia while Alexander tries to disagree agreeably. Alexander reveals what he's been up to in Leeds and Nottingham in the last few weeks. And Jonny remembers how Alexander has a hilarious pet name for his wife.
