He had a challenging childhood and tried to please family and society but ignored his own needs. His lack of mental health awareness and the social stigma attached to it led his family to think he was possessed and sought religious treatment to ‘cure it’. - في هذه الحلقة من بودكاست "الهوية"، يشارك طبيب متدرب في الصحة النفسية الفلسطيني الأسترالي طارق أحمد قصته مع المرض النفسي. اذ واجه تحديات وضغوطات منذ الطفولة كان بعض منها محاولة ارضاء عائلته ومجتمعه وتجاهل نفسه. وتسبب قله وعيه بالصحة النفسية ووصمة العار الاجتماعية المرتبطة بالاعتراف بها، إلى الاعتقاد بأنه ممسوس، وسعى للعلاج الديني.
