  • Compton's Cafeteria Riot
    Jun 16 2025

Happy Pride! At this point we all know the story of Stonewall, but if you haven’t heard it please head to our episode! This Pride month we wanted to discuss another earlier riot, in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District one hot summer night in 1966. It was there the gays, theys, Queens, Dolls, and gender non-conforming people would gather to catch up and grab a cup of coffee after working on the streets or clubs of San Francisco. One night after years of harassment from the corrupt and thuggish police force once cup of coffee sparked a riot that finally gave them the freedom to be who they were in the now historic district of San Francisco.

  • The First Woman to Scale Mount Everest: Junko Tabei
    May 19 2025

Episode 62 is dedicated to Mother Earth, we think the topic of this episode would like that.

At 4’9” Junko Tabei, like many Japanese children in the 1940’s, was labeled frail as a child. But a fateful class trip as a ten-year-old girl to the mountains of Japan ignited a love for the mountainous landscapes. Junko faced set-backs and opposition when she devoted more time to mountaineering after college but she decided instead to be a woman of many firsts. She began the first mountaineering club for women in Japan, and soon found herself seeking the highest climbs, and like many mountaineers, Everest called to her. Junko Tabei would become the first woman to completely scale the summit of Everest, but the climb didn’t come easy.

  • Griselda Blanco the Cocaine Godmother
    May 5 2025
When you think of gangsters and drug cartels, movies like Scarface, Blow, and the Godfather stand out. When we think of a drug lord we often picture an imposing dangerous figure, not a grandmother type. This week we cover the life of Griselda Blanco, otherwise known as the infamous “Cocaine Grandmother,” and mother to none other than Michael Corleone. Griselda made her mark in the Columbia drug cartels from a very early age. She was known as a ruthless criminal that many feared. • We Love You, Brittany Murphy
    Apr 21 2025

We're back to our regularly scheduled bad bitchery this week with our 60th episode celebrating the iconic Brittany Murphy. But first, we have to discuss our current dissociation tactics to survive the dumpster fire that is everything, such as White Lotus, and fellow podcasts we find solace. Apparently there was some sort of penis shaped rocket show that everyone is thoroughly distracted by, so we'll of course have to discuss that...

Brittany Murphy was once celebrated widely in Hollywood for her talents and bubbly demeanor. But just as quickly as her star power skyrocketed it seemed to slip right through her fingers after a series of professional and romantic setbacks that placed her heavily under the scrutiny of tabloids and Hollywood gossip columns. Her sudden death in December of 2009 shocked Hollywood and confuses her fans and web sleuths to this day, was Brittany Murphy’s life ended on purpose or was this truly a preventable illness gone wrong?

  • The Sun Still Shines: Sophie Scholl
    Apr 7 2025
This week’s episode ends our 3 week series collaborative series covering young women who fought back against the Nazis. Our last episode of the series covers Sophie Scholl; who resisted in Germany alongside her brother, Hans. With the White Rose Movement Sophie, Hans, and others, used pamphlets to spread the truth about the horrors of the Nazi regime. At first Sophie was inspired by the Nazi messaging; initially stoked the hopes of a Greater Germany. But she, along with others, quickly realized Hitler was not one of the good guys.Sources:https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/sophie-scholl-and-white-rosehttps://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-57008360https://www.zinnedproject.org/news/tdih/white-rose-members-executed/https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-white-rose-a-lesson-in-dissentSophia Polderman’s: Seducing and Killing Nazis.
