In this episode of Behold Your King, the ancient promise of Isaiah begins to bloom as the shoot from the stump of Jesse is found not on a throne, but on His mother’s lap in Bethlehem. Isaiah’s vision of a Spirit-filled ruler—one who judges with perfect righteousness and ushers in peace so complete that wolves lie with lambs—finds its fulfillment in the child worshiped by wise men from the east. Guided by a heavenly sign, these Gentile seekers recognize Jesus as the true King of the Jews, offering gifts that proclaim His identity and mission. As the news of His coming takes root in their hearts, we see the early stirrings of a gospel that will spread to the ends of the earth. In Christ, the promised King has arrived, and His people are commissioned to cultivate and carry that good news until He returns.
