Black Doulas are advocates for mothers during pregnancy and child birth: and well after. The statistics of how these heroes benefit the health and well being of mothers and children are astounding! For this episode we focus on the large disparity of the birth mortality rate between Black and White mothers. Black mothers are two times more likely than White mothers to suffer death or the loss of a child. Why? Is it racism? Is it Education? These Doulas help us think about these questions.
